HISTORY
In 1990, Congressman Rogaciano Mercado authored a bill to create a high school in San Jose Del Monte. Not long afterward, this bill became R.A. 7065, an act creating the San Jose Del Monte National High School, under the sponsorship of Cong. Laaudo. This was signed into law by Pres. Corazon C. Aquino on June 1991. It took two years before this act could take form in June 1993, Mayor Reynaldo Villano mobilized the Sangguniang Bayan to work on the requisites for starting the school. On his behalf, his wife Naty Villano and retired SPNHS principal Ms. Maria Borcena representation with Schools division superintendent Fe S. Ventura. In rapid fire manner, all requirements were met and district supervisor Pacenciana Miranda found housing for the high school in the kindergarten rooms of SJDM (West) Central School. Finally on June 14, 1993, displaced 2nd year high school students and still unaccommodated freshmen were organized into two and three sections respectively Mrs. Villano and Ms. Borcena, together with concern citizens like Dra. Theresita Pagulayan and retired grade school principal, Ms. Flordeliza Avancena handled classes for them, giving them basic lessons on good citizenship, character building, good study habits etc. A couple of days later, the municipal government deployed eight teachers, as the Division Superintendent provided the textbooks. Some of the pioneer teachers were: Samuel Carino, Noemi M. Acosta, Helen M. Yambot, Ruth B. Aguirre, Julita Maestra, Teresa Secretario, Geraldine Pantaleon, and Bernadeth Borja. In June 1994, the local officials contacted the purchase of a one-hectare lot in Brgy. Yakal, Francisco Homes for the schools Department site. In the summer of 1995 a ten-classroom building was constructed in the new site thru the initiative of former Congressman Angelito Sarmiento. This was followed by a two-classroom building from Provincial Governor Roberto Pagdanganan.
